Esteemed Worldwide Branding Member,
First and foremost, we would like to thank you for your membership with Worldwide Branding. We were recently alerted that other, unaffiliated, branding companies are contacting our members and, among other things, claiming to be associated with us, or misrepresenting that they are calling on behalf of Worldwide Branding, Worldwide Publishing and Worldwide Who’s Who.
HOW DO THEY HAVE ACCESS TO MY INFORMATION?
You may have recently enrolled in a premium Worldwide Branding service intended to provide participating members with added visibility, including our networking resources, press release distribution, the website development program and Worldwide Broadcasting. We have discovered that other companies have been examining these public profiles, which are viewable online, contacting our members, and misrepresenting that they are affiliated with Worldwide Branding or Worldwide Who’s Who in order to obtain our members’ billing information. The caller fails to identify whether he or she is calling from a specific organization. This conduct is designed to mislead our members into thinking that he or she is talking to a Worldwide Branding employee.
HOW WILL I KNOW THEY ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH WORLDWIDE BRANDING?
These companies may say that they are calling from “your publishing company,” or that they are “publishers of your biography.” They may also state, “I see that you are a member of Worldwide Branding. Congratulations…,” and that, “in order to protect you, we no longer retain your credit card information,” and ask you to restate your credit card number for their records. Additionally, they may claim that they are affiliated with us, referred by us, or that they can offer products or services that are superior to those offered by us. Moreover, they will not know or be able to provide you with your unique username, which grants you access to our online registry.
HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF FROM IMITATORS?
Please find your unique username, which is located on the receipt and program summary included in your welcome materials. If someone contacts you stating they are from “your publishing company,” please have them state your unique username before proceeding with the conversation. If the representative does not know your username, they are NOT associated with Worldwide Branding.
ASK THEM TO REPEAT YOUR USERNAME
If you do not have your username and password handy, please email us a request at techsupport@worldwidebranding.com, and we will send it to you. Remember: If the person contacting you cannot tell you what your username is, it is a clear indication that they are not affiliated with Worldwide Branding or its publishing division, Worldwide Publishing.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY ONE OF THESE COMPANIES?
If you feel that a caller is trying to pass him- or herself off as a Worldwide employee, or if the caller fails to identify the company for which he or she works, do not give them any of your personal information. Instead, please write down the caller’s name, the business name, address and phone number, and the date and time that you were contacted. Please contact our Fraud Protection Department at (516) 833-8440 or fraudprotection@worldwidebranding.com. Carefully review your credit card statement(s) and question anything that is not “Worldwide Branding, “Worldwide Registry” or “Worldwide Publishing.” If you are contacted by another company claiming to be Worldwide Branding, or claiming to be in any way affiliated with Worldwide Branding, we encourage you to contact your local authorities to report it as unlawful conduct. When reporting these occurrences to the authorities, be sure to include the formal business address for the company that called you. If and when you do have a case number for your criminal report, please send this to us for our records.
WORLDWIDE COMMITMENT TO OUR MEMBERS
At Worldwide Branding, we continue to adhere to the level of excellence that you can expect from a leading membership organization and publishing company. We assure you that we are taking every possible measure to prevent this from happening to our members. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to protect you and maintain the integrity of our organization.
Sincerely,
Worldwide Branding
